Hygiene Kits

At the Fat Calf Festival, we are putting together thousands of hygiene kits.

Yes, you read that right. Thousands. What is a hygiene kit? It’s simply a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, a nail clipper and a hand towel.

What are they used for? Hygiene kits are often given to displaced people who do not have access to hygiene supplies. If people have to leave their homes because of natural disaster or armed conflict, they usually don’t pack a toothbrush.

Hygiene kits are also given through schools and orphanages to encourage children in healthy habits.

So, at the Fat Calf Festival, we are going to do our part to ensure that thousands of kids can brush their teeth and cut their toenails.

There are two ways you can help:
1) Simply show up ready to work. All the needed supplies will be at camp, and we’ll be putting the kits together on Thursday afternoon. Grab a bag, fill them with the supplies, put them in a box, and do it over and over and over again.
2) Bring your own supplies! As individuals or groups, bring enough to fill out 1 or 2 (or 100!) kits. We’ll have enough bags and boxes on hand. The sky is the limit! We understand that some of you are flying and might not have space, so this is optional, but hey, the more toothpaste that comes to the Fat Calf, the better.
